Elmer,

Why do you suppose there are no SMP Athlons?

Get serious. I've been seeing the biathlon, triathlon, pentathlon and decathlon since I was a little kid. Unfortunately, the tasks are generally run serially instead of in parallel. I understand why they can't run and swim at the same time, but is there any reason why they can't shoot while still skiing?

Elmer, I agree with most of what you say except <Why do you suppose there are no SMP Athlons? It's almost certainly because of bugs in the design.>

It may take AMD two or three iterations of an SMP chipset to get it right. The lack of an SMP Athlon is simply because there's no chipset and AMD doesn't have much experience in this area.

And yes, there probably will be a small list of errata for the Athlon, but I doubt as many as for the PIII.
