How about Consistency... That is overlooked.

With CIBC, Ive had waits as long as an hour where an order sits in limbo (have to pick up the phone and call) and waits as little as 1 minute to show an order open.

I would just like to depend on one or the other. At least you can plan for it.

<edit>Another fine example of the intelligence of the characters on the account desk at CIBC occurred today. I called to find out why my acct hadnt been updated since last Friday, to which the reply was 'The markets were closed'. This is while hes looking at my account. I only hold US stocks. <VBG>

I agree as well, red tape to move an account is ridiculous. 6 Weeks frozen is too long.

Cheers,

Carole

Peter, thanks for the info on TD Waterhouse. This is the kind of real-life feed back I'm looking for. I don't want to sign up for a service that looks good on paper(or on computer monitor anyway) only to discover that reality sucks (again). After all I'm PO'd that I missed the open by 5 minutes this morning (and it cost me 10%).

But isn't anyone on this thread actually satisfied with their service?
