Thread: We should all offer our thanks to PaineWebber analyst Walter Piecyk for two reasons: First, he issued a marvelous, well-thought-out report. Second, he was being ripped a new a**hole by Joe Kernan, David Faber, Mark Haines, Maria B., etc., all of whom were acting as if his $1000.00 price target was absurd. In the face of this verbal abuse, for over two hours, he agreed to appear on Sqwak Box and face the questions. He was eloquent and clear. He responded to incredulous questions without being rude, and he articulated his reasons in a manner which showed that: (a) he knew what he was talking about and (b) the QCOM story can be articulated as something more than a momentum play.

There are more upgrades to come, notwithstanding the fact that people (like Ron Inasa right now on CNBC) are still bashing Mr. Piecyk.

Voltaire....THANK YOU!

Voltaire,

I finally signed on because at this point I have run out of excuses. I have followed your posts for over a year (from your days at Dell). The last thing I remember you posted on the Dell board was something to the effect..."this stock is dead," and you took a lot of flack for it. From that point on Dell was practically flat. I finally sold out my position a couple months ago and bought the Q.

I did a search for your name on SI and low and behold you were here. Somehow it didn't surprise me. After all...YOU ARE THE MAN (and quite an educator)!!! I finally talked my frugal wife into letting me sign on SI (being the good husband that I am) about 5 minutes ago to thank you and to glean from your knowledge (which is simply amazing). I finally understood how the MM's manipulate after the drastic movement yesterday in the last 6 minutes of trading. Simply incredible.

Voltaire, today's unbelievable move in the Q was a toast to you. Congrats. and a BIG THANKS!

Zello (Tim)

Electric Gent. Brass ring in sight. Some non visionaries had their backs broken today. TIME COMPRESSION!! I wonder what will happen next week with 4X shares and prices in the $175+ range---still not an "affordable" stock by most standards.
