Hi tejek; Re shooting and skiing at the same time... The problem isn't with the shooters, it with the people in the stands. Too much of a clean up problem when a contestant pulls the trigger while going over a bump. On the other hand, shooting while snowboarding should be a breeze, no ski poles. -- Carl P.S. Re the possibility of bug-free multi-million gate CPUs, I believe that such designs are feasible. The secret is simplicity. Designs need to be made so simple that a single person can pretty much completely understand them. Then it is easy to get everything perfect. It isn't a matter of the huge number of transistors, because those get placed automatically. A couple of lines of VHDL can generate a million gates. The designer designs at an exceedingly high level, not at the (God forbid) transistor level. I have no doubt that a bug free processor is possible, but there are solid engineering reasons for not designing one. The simplicity required might be incompatible with efficiency, or software compatibility.
