Scumbria, As they say, follow the money. Well with options you can leap to wealth in a short time if the company succeeds...as Intel has. They have a reputation for being a pressure cooker environment, but that comes with the leader role they play.
My main point of curiosity is how does Intel prevent 'hardening of the arteries' in managament terms? How do they make sure that bad decision makers get rusticated? How do they manage and good decision maker who rises high and then turns incapable and builds a fortress of cronys,(CPQ comes to mind). That is the main problem with a maturing high tech Co, re-invention of themselves to stay sharp at all levels. How does Jerry manage it at AMD? He seems to be the epitome of bad management, but he seems to have staffed the company with people who make their own path and let him take the role of drumbeater in left field. In fact Jerry seems to be less and less visible recently, even in that role. Rustication for Jerry??
