Hi Swiss -- don't be spooked -- IDC has been an undiscovered gem but have been busy behind the scenes.
IDC has a venture with NOK and TI now.
Q has paid IDC fees for 2G licensing, and Q needs IDC for pieces of 3G CDMA.
In fact, Q is now following the IDC business model (vbg).
IDC shed their manufacturing, and are now in the business of collecting royalties on their more than 800 patents.
Ericy currently owes IDC big $$ for patent infringement.
Rahm, the one MK analyst covering IDC should be shot -- he doesn't know the telecom industry or anything about CDMA. I bet a few more analysts jump on board now that IDC has been discovered.
IDC needs to thank Q for paving the way -- now IDC will be recognized for their patented hold in this sector.
Remember last year when an analyst said QCOM was speculative at $50 per share?
And now it's not speculative at $700?
I've been in IDC since 10 1/4 -- and keep averaging up.
I truly believe IDC is one of the future wireless monsters.
Back to lurking.

IDC--if only one analyst covers it, then NBR's reference to "several analysts" calling it a baby Qualcomm is odd.
