HUGE NEWS! MedCom USA Appoints Executive Healthcare Services an Independent Sales Organization for the MedCard System; Executive Healthcare Purchases 500 MedCard Terminals for Sales Force

IRVINE, Calif.--(BW HealthWire)--Dec. 29, 1999--MedCom USA, Inc. (Nasdaq: EMED) Wednesday announced that its MedCard Division has entered into a marketing agreement with Executive Healthcare Services (EHS), Calabasas, Calif.; wherein EHS will market the company's MedCard System(R).

EHS is a healthcare independent sales organization (ISO) with 15 national sales offices and 900 sales representatives. Executive Healthcare Services markets products and services to physicians, hospitals and clinics in 50 states. EHS has placed an initial purchase order with the company for 500 MedCard transaction-processing terminals to be used by their sales force for product demonstrations.

These terminals are scheduled to ship by Dec. 31, 1999 in time for launching a major sales campaign beginning January.

"We have been evaluating competitive product and service offerings for medical benefits verification and billing for over two years," stated Barry Tikotin, Executive Healthcare Services' vice president sales and training. "The MedCard System is clearly superior. We are impressed by both the breadth and depth of services provided by this system, and by its extraordinary ease of use.

"We firmly believe the MedCard System provides our medical customers a cost-effective solution for managing their practices more efficiently and improving their cashflow and collections. EHS is excited by this marketing opportunity and initially has purchased 500 terminals for its sales force as part of a major sales campaign launch in January.

"At the start, we project sales of 2,000 MedCard Systems monthly."

"This new relationship with EHS allows us to significantly increase our sales presence in the healthcare industry," stated Mark E. Bennett, MedCom's president and CEO. "We are delighted to partner with such a quality sales organization. With this initial purchase of 500 MedCard terminals to be used by their sales force, they clearly are demonstrating their commitment to MedCom and the MedCard System."

MedCom USA provides innovative solutions for electronically processing transactions within the healthcare industry.

The company's healthcare business units include: MedCard, a service package for physicians, clinics and hospitals that has been endorsed by the New York County and Suffolk County Medical Associations; JustMed.com, a pure play Internet healthcare Web site; and Med Store, an e-commerce site for selling home medical equipment (HME) products.
