Regards Harmon and NOVL, there is no rumor out there; just conjecture on my part. NOVL is an underappreciated Internet infrastructure play (Toshiba, Dell, Compaq and IBM, amongst others, use NOVL's caching technology) and they are heavily committed to the Open Source movement. Harmon has already indicated that his year 2000 picks will be B2B oriented. Witness his SCOC pick, which may have appeared to come out of left field. NOVL sold Unix to SCOC some years ago. I am rambling, but I think that I have properly read the tea leaves. Even if he does not select it, NOVL is a hell of a bargain.
