Things are definitely moving forward. I e-mailed G* yesterday and asked if I was still on the vip list for a phone. I got a ph call today to follow up. They did have me confused with someone else but we straightened everything out. The rep was VERY helpful and knowledgeable. She asked if I was ready to order and I said yes so see transferred me to an Airtouch rep. He was also VERY helpful and knowledgeable. I should have my phone by the end of next week. He offered me 3 plans, a 0 min plan at 29.95/mo and 1.69/min for sat calls. That is one I took. The others were higher monthly for more free min. If I was going to use it extensively, the one for 369/mo for tons of mins would have benn the one. He said all the US incl the nw where I am will be served from the Clifton gw. I asked about Hawaii just for kicks and he said they would not put a gw there until demand warrants it probably not before 2001. I asked if demand was brisk in the US and he said emphatically yes and it is accelerating everyday. Looking forward to next week so I can give this a try. I have been waiting four years for this and the upswing in both Lor/G* this week has certainly paid for the phone. Happy new year to everyone!!!
