Hi Voltaire! Any bets on wether we get back over 700 today or 175 tomorrow? Too many folks with the power to buy so easily.....I agree with you on the emotions of this market.

Regards,

:)

volt, i understand that wealth and greed tend to blind the senses. however adept you are at buying well above fair value and dumping to a greater fool even higher above fair value - and you might be very good at this, or very lucky - it is a chumps game on avg.

folks win the lottery all the time. the lottery is still a tax on folks who aren't good at math.

just think about what you are saying. everyone w/b gazillionaires. everyone. it's soooo easy. the fact is most folks lose.

look at the volume. low when stock prices are low. many times higher when the stock increases in value. a fall of 50% or so (well above any qcom moving avg) would devastate the avg investor.

that being the case, though, enjoy the euphoria. it is fun.

oh, and calculate the opportunity cost of not buying that winning lottery ticket... ;-)

you see, your "logic" doesn't hold up. i agree that logic is not rewarded in this market. but, it will be rewarded eventually.

Agree,
This is a market where you note fundamentals, but buy on momentum, and investor psychology. Its not buy low sell high all the time. Its buy high sell higher (BTW this doesnt have to occur intraday). Nevertheless, fundamentals for QCOM happen to be pretty good. This is a solid nearterm and longterm investment. Its naive to assume that come Jan 3 every one exits for profit; in fact from a cotrarian standpoint since many expect this, it won't happen. Jan is earnings month, Jan is historically rally month, Jan is post y2k relief month. Also, if institutions start dumping tech in Jan, where will they put there money? Right back into tech.
