Interesting, Lee. Why don't you post that on the QCOM board, and then be prepared to duck! <gg>

Best.

You might be interested in this summary of some of the possible glitches associated with Q. Although I have a small position, it's not exactly clear, to me anyway, that CDMA will be the prevailing global wireless standard. <g> Much more comfortable with JDSU and SDLI.

I agree.

I don't know how many were around back in the spring of '96 when Iomega went to the moon. At least for that era it was considered a rocket shot when it soared 11 points in one day. Stocks didn't do that then. Now it's not note-worthy if it's anything less than 50 to 100. At any rate, the stock was edging towards 50 (pre-split), from a pre-annual meeting 30-range, and I recall watching the Motley Fool leaders pulling out their pencils and calculators to justify the new valuation. I think every man woman and child in the Western World would have had to buy a zip drive to make the numbers work, but they managed to convince themselves it was, indeed, possible.

I'm not saying JDSU is in this position but I am wondering if the mighty Q isn't a bit over-extended and the followers setting the company up for disappointment. Believe me, I've watched some exceptional minds convince themselves and scores of followers that inflated numbers made sense and I didn't believe them then and probably wouldn't believe them now. Back then I sold at 36 on the way up and never saw the final rise and also never took the ride to 3. If I owned Q, I'm sure I would have sold by now. (Which tells you how much I know.)

But, hey, I sleep well owning JDSU and SDLI and hope the new year brings lots of opportunities to buy more.

Happy New Year's everyone!!
