Greetings,

Thanks to Ramsey I've been directed to this place in cyberspace. I see most of the "old crew" names here. Sorry Ramsey, I won't be talking about my "third leg" or anyone elses! I just wanted to congratulate everyone who invested.... many moons ago... in Qualcomm. Especially those who still hold their original shares. Thanks for the comments Kevin and Michael, I appreciate that. To all of you... a very Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Walt

I think your post is a little short sited. By having the ASIC MSM5000, you are able to have the HDR in the very same package as you had with the MSM3100. The radio is no different than the regular phone, so you can have your phone be a faster modem if you want. All thephonestoday are modems, you just need the sfotware to enable them. Your QCP-860 has this software in it and when they turn on the data service at the cell sites, you have a modem which can connect to your laptop. the HRD option will be somethig you buy to make it run alot faster.

I agree that HDR will open up a whole world of new applicances and applications and that there will be a fixed OEM version o the QCM-800 ands QCM-1900 with this in it in which OEMs can imbed it into most any function they want.

I just see the option being there on all phones in the future, since hte only cost is the newer MSM asic.
