Downsouth, If you don't mind me asking---have you taken some profits on Q after the price target increase to 1000. OR maybe you can give an idea whether other long term Q holders that you know did this?

I am one who believes that Q won't sell off in January. The split will help it maintain current levels or go up. It will seem cheap---sometimes this type of factor does matter especially in momentum stocks.

DownSouth, I'm not sure I have to substantiate my doubts. The fact is that the nice, round $1000 target was, by all accounts, most extraordinary and unusually timed, particularly from a firm that had not, heretofore, issued comment.

Can I substantiate my feelings that PaineWebber had a private agenda when it released the target? No. But I have reason to question PaineWebber's motives based upon prior commentary from that firm. The mere fact that the SUNW scenario and the QCOM scenario are "unrelated" from a purely technical or mechanical point of view is of no moment to me. What is relevant, to me, is that I had flagged PW's announcements as controversial, and my feelings have now been reinforced.

Of course, you may disagree with the doubts I raise, and I respect that.

I think the real message I had attempted to communicate was that I was more impressed with the Gruntal analysis of JDSU than the PW analysis of QCOM.

Incidentally, I'm a Q holder and have been for a few weeks. I also hold JDSU.
