Good morning Sonny, This is early hours of the morning and I can't sleep. So, let me share with you my idea of investment. As you know we don't pay taxes on capital gain, or income due from trading equities in Switzerland, when we deal in non Swiss assets. You can always cross the border at Schahausen! ggg I buy and sell US equities paying 10 cents to buy and 10 to sell. On a two dollars margin of the trade, I net out 1.80 and that is how I trade stocks with 2 points on daily basis. NOVL? Never owned it. I am not rich enough to buy second cattegory stocks. Sonny, please forgive my imodesty, but I have never lost money on the stock market!! ggg With one exception, when I panciked and shorted one stock, lost 20%, and it down another 30% I bought back and faired well! The stock was AOL. ggg I normally buy stocks in co.'s with very large capitalization that are maket leaders! This applies to my short, medium, and long portfoglios. If the stock goes down, I keep it. For one that goes down, three go up and that is how I make my perofmrance year ater year. Example: I own plenty of CPQ. I put my average entery price at 53 Cents per share as of Dec. 27th. This entery price is calculated based on my accumulation cpq over years and, the over-all perforamce of my trading CPQ on daily basis btween 19 to 27 dollars since Pfiffer was kicled out. I buy and sell CPQ with 2 points on my short and 5 to 7 points on my medium. CPQ has been down for the past two years and has not contributed to my long portfolio's performance. But IBM, Dell have done nicely. Maybe in a year or two Dell or IBM will have their crisis and CPQ WILL come back! When it does, I will have a great performance. Over years of trading I have developed a approach to the market that it paid year after yeat. One has to take the greed and this "over-nite getting rich" idea out of this business. I nibble at the market, I never bite the baite! Qualcome is a winner. It will make plenty of peole very very rich, the people who buy it and let it run. It may make plenty of peole very poor. one day they will buy it at 1000 and it will correct, then the loose their money. I have made decent money on QCOM but I don't own it now. Ihave nibbled it. I rather risk wiht Erricson, Nolkia, MSFT, INTC AOL, IBM, Dell.... These are stocks are risky enough. Check out the stocks I have in my portfolio on SI and you will see what I keep. On this continent we never achieve the level of wealth you have in the US, yet we live very well. I have known of plenty of high-fliers that one day were worth 200 million and lost all. As we say in Italian, one has to walke with leaded shoes. We can't risk our children's inheritance! ggg
