Dotty,

It sounds like you inadvertently turned off the 'auto scale' setting.

Highlight the chart window,
pull down 'chart'
move the mouse over 'price scale'
click the 'auto scale' setting so that it is checked.

This will set the auto scale feature which displays the whole chart at one time.

You can open a "bar" in whatever timeframe you want and get a volume number by bar. If you are wanting futures volume, it only records numbers of trades, but this is a CME issue and not a quote issue. Good luck. Matt
