Chuz, I suspect you have never dealt with securitization transactions. Perhaps you retired before they hit the scene in the late 80s, and revolutionalized commercial banking.

I would guess that the unaffiliated "entities managed by banks", i.e., the buyers of the $600 million of receivable-backed securities issued by the QSPE, are mutual fund type entities such as those that purchase other asset-backed securities. Other types of assets backing asset-backed securities include prime loans, credit card receivables, auto loans, etc.
