Hello John. You have to understand where the info is coming from. Sometimes, its old info, like this afternoon Island ECN was showing this mornings quotes. There are at least 3 afterhour markets. I have seen them different from each other by by a couple of points before. And then add to that, different web sites relaying the info...well it can really get messed up. Its still a new thing, but if you want to rely on the info posted here, take the majorities word.

Afterhours is thinly traded. Not reliable. But, the stock should continue to go up tomorrow because of the momentum.

Agree with first 2 replies, also most after hours trading requires limit orders for both buying and selling, which can easily cause price fluctuations in thin trading. So these numbers are in fact real but represent the activity of relatively small volume.
