You should try northern California beaches. 55 degree water combined with 65 degree air, fog and wind. It makes for a
really fine beach experience.

Shocked me when I moved here. The major currents flow south to north on the east coast, north to south here.

You can even take 10 minutes getting into the water as far south as Malibu.

Used to do a lot of diving there. Either dry suit or 5/8" of wet suit around the torso. Still cold.
