Dave, that is exactly what I was thinking: at least some of the shorts will be covering in January. I bought yesterday. I will buy today as long as it hangs under 70 and stays over about 66. I will be looking for an exit next week or so in the 80's.

O.T. Dave here is an update, to help you plan your XMAS 2000 shopping list. Pioneer To Ship 40,000 DVD Recorders By March Wednesday, January 5, 2000 TOKYO (Nikkei)--Pioneer Corp. (6773) plans to ship 30,000-40,000 DVD recorders -- capable of recording discs that can be played on any DVD player -- by March, the last month of the current fiscal year. The DVR-1000, the world's first DVD recorder, was introduced at a list price of 250,000 yen in December 1999. Some 7,000 units were shipped in December alone -- a brisk pace on a par with that of the world's first CD player, the CDP-101, which Sony Corp. (6758) put on the market in October 1982. Pioneer is promoting DVD devices as a mainline business. On a consolidated basis, shipments of DVD players in fiscal 1999 are expected to reach 1.35 million units, up 118% on the year. Shipments of DVD-ROM drives will likely jump more than tenfold to just over 3.5 million units. The DVD recorder's strong showing is likely to contribute to Pioneer's earnings. Analysts say Pioneer will record 5 billion yen in net profit on annual consolidated sales of 600 billion yen in fiscal 1999. (The Nikkei Industrial Daily Wednesday edition)
