I just called gaugie's number again. It's been off for at least 7 hours. You told me his replaced hip had gotten out of joint. That sounds painful. Maybe he's very, very doped up and unable to talk because of pain and heavy morphine. Oh, poor gaugie. Or maybe the rejection phase has kicked in and he feels ghastly.
