Mani, The reason is that the top speed bins are so small that even though they are announced there is not enough of them to cause the ASP of lower speed bins to crash. Intel will not be aggressive with their pricing on 650 MHz to 750 MHs simply because they are not making a whole lot of CPU's above that. I agree with you that Intel can't afford to collapse prices at the high end because of lower volumes at high end from Intel. I think AMD is producing more higher speed Athlons.
