Yes, Sagent sells a complete solution, and thus it is inherently low-end. Buying a Sagent solution is as opposed to buying a specialized data warehousing product from say Informatica or Ardent, and then buying a BI product from say Cognos or Business Objects, and then buying a reporting tool from say Actuate. Buying all the pieces separately would no doubt yield a more powerful, more customized solution, but would be much more expensive.

This key is that while a Sagent solution is much less expensive and easier to implement, it seems to be more than sufficiently powerful and flexible. I also believe that Sagent is targeting their solution for specific applications.

There is nothing inherently wrong with being low-end. Consider that MSDOS was a low-end operating system.
