Zero Y2K problems and it's already 1.06am in New Zealand. The other fizzer was the rained out celebrations. Fireworks up in clouds are very dull, muffled and not quite the spectacular the light shining through the mist showed it would have been.

No sunset [other than the deep south]. No sunrise I guess either.

Cellphones were overloaded for a while, but no problems now.

No Y2K so forget about selling lots of last minute phones to handle problems.

You can check that link above for reports of problems. They will be very bored people on New Years day, waiting for some problems to be reported. The Y2K offices are all computerized and manned, waiting to handle the disaster.

I suppose a few businesses will have problems tomorrow when they try to fire up their systems. Or maybe Monday because it's Saturday and they won't be at work.

Happy New Year,
Maurice
