Tec,

Thanks for the link. Very interesting. I am not an AOL DSL user, I too use Bell Atlantic DSL, via Earthlink. I just tested and got 362.1 Kbps and 44.4K bytes/sec. As I expected DSL to be much faster, I called Earthlink and they said 384 Kbps was Bell Atlantic's average speed. She also said GTE was faster, but I do not know if that is an option for me.

I am most definitely happy with the new speed and connection I have, as my internal modem was subject to the crackles and pings of my second phone line and cut off often. When I called in late November, I was told my wait would be until mid-January, yet they managed to get me hooked up a month early. Covad did the actual installation and they too were terrific. Both in terms of setting up the appointments and when the installation tech was here, he got on the phone with Apple when there seemed to be a glitch and they figured it out. So, so far so good.

I'd be interested to hear anyone's experience with AOL DSL as well.
