You are right about Zulu time for many industries. I know that the US Air Traffic control system computers, and most systems they connect to are on Zulu time, otherwise know as Greenwitch Mean Time (GMT). But most of this software has been checked in advance.

The problems are more likely to occur in things that people forget to check, such as expiration dates on security badges, etc., and IMHO these few isolated events will be over-reported in the media, but that in general Y2K will result in only minor inconviences in this country - surely nothing to scare the market.
