Ooo--- that sounds so good--
I am doing a big round of Brie in a pastry shell with a hot mango chutney and bacon on top to bring as an appetizer to this dinner tonight. I also made some wonderful spicy sweet pecans to take as a hostess gift in a beautiful embroidered gold and silver fabric box that I got ON SALE at Saks.
Unfortunately, I think I have the flu.

Your feast sounds delightful, X. I am really happy to see how many people are spending New Year's Eve quietly with their families instead of at wild drunken parties. I have always thought that was a peculiar way to welcome the future anyway, waking up with a hangover and not quite remembering everything that had happened.

I still have your wonderful recipe, X, and am ashamed to admit that I have not tried it, or any other recipe, actually, because I have not felt much like cooking this past year. I am finding it really hard to work fulltime, be a wife and mother, and do lots of stock research and play with my cats and work on stained glass all at the same time. San Francisco is so full of very healthy and inexpensive take-out/free delivery food that once I have filled the house with fresh fruit and the basics so that anyone can make a sandwich or have cereal or eggs and toast or cheese and our wonderful sourdough, I get lazy and let my fingers do the walking, um cooking!

I was not actually away! I work in an MIS department, and was so busy at work this week because of final Y2K preparations that I came home every evening and collapsed in exhaustion. Now all of that is over, and I am trying to catch up on what has happened here at Feelings, which seems like it will take quite awhile!
