Dan, re: Short interest at: marketguide.com Showed a good sized increase for the December reading - now those who bought into those position have to be thinking about how to get out of them. Some may have started today. I noticed that about 3800 AMD Jan $25 calls were sold at $5 1/8 in the last 45 minutest before the close. The volume in these options was running about 150/day after the holidays until today. The volume and raise in the stock price before the close could also be due to an option play where a fund manager (neutral to slightly bullish opinion) was after capturing the premium in those options for a quick 3% return within 3 weeks of period.
