Brain, yes there have always been elders but, do you really believe these mortal men were Chosen by God? Elders are traditionally elected within the hierarchy of the church. In other words, they are chosen by other men. I didn't say the elders were evil. I said they take it upon themselves to place themselves above others. Do you really think an elder of any church is a dignity as you suggest? He is just another mortal man, nothing more. The only thing the Mormons have to do with the Puritans, is that they place their elders above all other members of the congregation. The only one God has chosen to rule over me, or any other, is our Lord(ruler) and Savior. No mere mortal has been given that position by God Himself. If you think that God has personally appointed you to rule over other men in your, or any other church, is a flagrant display of egotism. Such Pride is also a sin. If my concept of Salvation is unbiblical, how do explain away all the many quotes posted by me, and others, from the Bible? Do you not accept the portions of the Bible that do not agree with your peculiar beliefs? It, most certainly, appears that you do. haqi
