Good post. This one is a real puzzle. Relying on title and background as posted on the GMGC website, I conclude that none of the VIPs still listed can discuss anything technical except for Markman himself. Any discussions going on would be to wrap it up, since no new initiatives are possible without the top technical tier, now (all?) departed.

When a technology gets hot (as voice is hot now), the speed of innovation also picks up. GMGC now does not have the financial strength or the technical resources to keep up.

I think the Excite tie may not yet be dead. Excite would be comfortable relying on its own technical staff and would be happy to have the GMGC card to further its relationship with GM.

The voice of Jim White's assistant was not a happy or confident one when I discussed his departure with her two weeks back.
