..I LUV it when you talk like that! Mind you, in another year or two the penalty will be down to single digits and it won't matter anymore. Were it not for the existence of TOOL and were I starting a big development project today that was going to take some time before it was done and in production enough to be stressed, I would be looking very, very hard at Java, even for the server (especially with the Sun FJEE product!). As it is, I can develop in TOOL today, compile to C++ for performance today, and expect that by the time the Java VMs are up to snuff, that Forte will probably provide an option to compile into Java instead, should I prefer to do that for some reason. C++ is a ghastly language. It works well, but should not be written by humans except in the most extreme cases.
