Hi, Runner...don't know if this means anything or not, but I thought with you being a merchant yourself and all, you might be able to confirm or deny what I'm about to share:

I was flabbergasted this AM when running through some VS/MC merchant slips this a.m. to see that the "transaction confirm number" is the same series as all of Dec 99's transactions. That is most strange.

For all the years I've been associated with VS/MC folks as a merchant, this is the first time the calendar page has "flipped" and a new number series to tell the current month's transactions---for merchant monthly fee payment calcuations--apart from the previous months which is closed.

You don't suppose there is VS/MC--Y2K?--problem stateside that hasn't received any press do you? I sure didn't hear ole Koski talk about it this a.m. in his briefing.

What do you think?

As a matter of record, my VS/MC merchant numbering series externally imposed by a giant multi-regional megabank operation finally changed as of yesterday's date 1/14/2000 to the new January 2000 numbering system.

The charges have been late hitting my account even though they are supposed to be posted to my account by 8:30 every evening whenever charges are authorized.
Could be that all is not well but under very tight wraps in bankville, yes?

Hope all is going well for you in the antique biz.
