Several months back, the Washington Post ran, in a section of the paper geared towards school age kids (including high schoolers) a long explanation of how the Fed works. I posted excerpts from it, but didn't save it. It was very good, though, if you want me to try to find it, I will. It had diagrams, which I always find helpful.
