I have Road Runner cable modem service from Time Warner (beep, beep) and it's great. All I have to do to launch any internet based service is double click the icon on my desktop and it's there. Never shuts down and is fast.... I think I pay under $50 a month (maybe $24.95 ~ I can't tell because of all those premium channels we get but never watch!) Keep bugging your cable provider until they offer it in your area. Cloudless

Thanks for your encouragement to double-check. Unfortunately, they actually installed DSL in my office
and it didn't work. I was right on the 3 mile line.
