LOL! I was there for it! The problem was that the hotels, motels, and what have you were filled to bursting, so unless you could demonstrate that you were going home or had a place to stay with friends, they didn't want any more demands on a paralyzed city. And Boston was utterly paralyzed. I have such luck with weather. I even managed to catch the freak blizzard on the Cape and the tornados that shut down the airport in Atlanta. <rueful smile>
