hey myron,

first of all, you're definitely welcome. i'd like to see this prob overcome.

re: reinstalling communicator... yes, you certainly can download it from the web. go to this page

home.netscape.com

look for (and read!) any release notes and/or readme files, myron. imo, you can install the new on top of the old and still fix your unwanted guest prob. also you won't lose bookmarks and email that way. backing these files up, however, is always a good idea.

"P.S.--I just noticed on going back to Explorer that when I renamed prefs.js to prefs.bad that now both are existing in username directory. Hmmmmmmm"

that's as it should be. the new prefs.js was created when you restarted the browser after renaming to prefs.bad. this way you can always put things back the way they were by switching the names back to original status. i'm surprised that this did not fix things.

i think you're doing a good job, myron. you're certainly going a lot further with this than a lot of people would. that's how you get things fixed, imo <g3>

let us know how it's going...

:)
