And I thought I had done something good and you show up. <ggg> I humbly bow to your knowledge Sir (not fair to be Certified). While you're in the area maybe you can help a friend of mine with a problem. With win95 he installed a cdrom. This is a "Compaq Presario 1060." Using Window's 95. The CD-ROM that came in it is a Toshiba CD-ROM XM--1402B.

The CD-ROM consistently gives a message of "NO DISK" even if there is a disk physically in the drive. At one time if we would go into safe mode, remove the CD-ROM, and shut down the computer, reinstall and could then be run until the next time the computer was turned off. The next time the computer was turned on the "NO DISK" message would reappear. We reattached the tape and installed new driver but no go.

Thanks for any ideas,

tc
