Merlin, let me explain why I responded to the poster as I did. (I stated it clearly in my post, but its worth clarifying.) I was not disagreeing with anyone. Nor was I protesting disagreement. I was protesting the very personally, negative tone of the poster. He offered no new information, just a personal attack on LindyBill. I object to personal attacks. I do not object to argument. Because that personal attack was posted publicly and has become a part of "our permanent record", I could not let it be ignored. Lurkers, and participants alike should see that we care enough about the mission of this thread to object to those who go outside the bounds of civility. Had I seen such a post on another thread, I would have ignored it. I would have posted my response regardless of who was being attacked, including a newbie, an oldie, a male or a female. I resent those who try to explain my actions with broad generalizations. Those persons seem to be looking for evidence to defend their own actions or opinions. Broad generalizations are almost always wrong.
