<<<"No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God." >>>

We need some people who will take a stand like that. Unfortunately most of you folks on this dear thread, being "honest atheists and all" probably see things different.

Now I hear that Australia still has plenty of wide open territory.....perhaps some of you....oh never mind.

Chris

Delbert -- on religion we're at a stand-off for lack of "proof" (all the more reason to drop it, IMO), but one thing you're dead wrong about --

John Rocker has "heat" and he dominates. The sanctimonious journalist class may throw up all over him, but he ain't going nowhere. Trust me on this.

Did Rocker break a law? No

Does Rocker (like feelies) have a right of free speech? Yes

Are you likely to run into people on the subway that make you uncomfortable? Yes

Do you hear a bewildering amount of foreign speech in NY? Yes

Are all these people here legally? No (and I include half the help in Irish bars)

Rocker is no sophisticate and he may even be a bigot, but big league sports have no problem paying big money to creeps and criminals of all sorts.

Rocker is simply not PC -- perhaps this is the greatest crime of all.

By the way, the lead piece in last Sunday's NYT magazine section went on for thousands of words on the same subject as Rocker. Where's the beef?

Mike

Dubya seems pretty dumb to me, Del, after reading those comments of his. Well, I already did not think he was very smart, but dumb as a post now comes to mind . . .
