Perhaps this is a bit off-topic, but I'm curious as to whether Gilder has made any major blown calls over the years comparable to the kind that Murphy has made, both on individual stocks and on broad market trends. It is interesting to see this board come alive again. I was a subscriber for 2 years, 1996 and 1997, a period in which nothing MM recommended seemed to work, or what did work seemed to be so random that it took either more luck or more time than I could devote (which was why I was subscribing to his newsletter). I think a lot of us learned the hard way from that time that there are no shortcuts to stockpicking. As an alumnus of the newsletter, it's hard not to have some level of curiosity as to how he is doing and whether he is still recommending some of the same stocks from that period.
