Wright,

Give me a break here. BRK stock has basically fallen in line with the rest of the financial sector. You can paste its chart right over most P&C insurers as well as quite a few S&L's over the last year or two. Somewhere, somehow, a significant portion of BRK shareholders acquired a selling mentality, and it's out there in the price. Pretty sanctimonious that "you don't know us. we're a patient bunch" stuff. You're assuming you know you, for one. But for a group that "doesn't pay much attention to Mr. Market," your compatriots certainly been acting in line with him:

It's also interesting that you bring up sentiment on SI. I'd say that there's a group of pretty knowledgeable value-oriented Buffett-admiring investors right here. Is it a microcosm of the greater BRK group? The few that have been holding forever. The few that have been holding a few years. The few that just recently started buying? IMO, it's not at all certain that the microcosm isn't somewhat reflective.

And re: "we'll probably pay less attention to you now," well now that's snide.

Mike
