No need to be sad for my life. I am enjoying it. If I believe that this is the only life there is, that's only more of a reason to make the most of it.

I, like most biologists, believe that life began with random chemical reactions that eventually hit on a self-reproducing reaction. It is now known that there are many such natural reactions. The simplest forms of life are hard to distinguish from non-life. The distinction is blurry.

It will only be a matter of time before scientists will reproduce life purely from chemicals.

No offense, Michael, but masturbation isn't necessarily lonely. Truth be known, most of us do it. It's an awful lot of fun. If you have never tried it, I recommend it heartily. And if you feel lonely during or afterward, I suggest you learn to love yourself.
