"Can you imagine dialing in to have the lights in your
house go on ten minutes before you arrive home.
AWESOME..."

Call me a fuddy duddy, but I don't see what's so awesome about it. I am perfectly content to turn the lights in my house on when I get there. The MOST I might conceive of wanting, is some device like a garage door opener that would turn on the lights at the same time, or slightly before, it opened my garage door. Now that I think of it, doesn't the garage door opener turn on the lights in your garage?

Personally, I have minimal interest in the features you or 100cfm describe. I don't need my refrigerator to tell me what to buy,it takes less than a second to turn on the lights, my air conditioner is already on,etc, etc. There may be others that are more interested but the key point is whether or not they are willing to spend any significant amount of money on this kind of fluff. I doubt it. Of course eventually it will be almost free, but that also means vendors won't be getting rich off it. IMHO, there is nothing even close to a gg here.
What I really would like is the ability to download and view any movie or TV show ever made at my whim. (I never did find out how Babylon 5 ended). This will come with other technology.

I think there are a lot of things that we think the wireless generation will give up but we don't know exactly how!

Reminds me of when (boy this is really going to give my age away) the electric clothes washer with the round tub and wringer first came out. My dad said, "Before you know it
there will be a little man jump out of the washer and hang the clothes on the line for you." Hence the Electric Dryer. :-)

I was very, very, very young at the time. :-)
