This is one of the things about Christianity which so confuses me. They MUST have been Christian principles, or else Christianity as a teacher of principles must be so weak as to be mostly ineffective as a moral compass. Either way, it would seem to be a criticism of Christianity.

nihil, the actions of those who took the country from the Native Americans speak volumes about the Bible being our moral compass. All of the actions of the early settlers, who I am told over and over were mostly Christian, can be justified by passages from the Bible.
