Merlin and thread, does anyone have good knowledge about Globalstar? Have we analyzed it sufficiently? It has my attention, but not any of my money.

<Generally, there are not many enabling competitors. I think the home network management space will prove to be an exception.>

Mike, you are absolutely correct. The "Smart Home System"
is already a very crowded market. With none that i have seen to date that live up to the hype. That is not to say that someday one company will not break from the pack.

This is also true with their automatic temperature control systems. They have made little headway in this market, where
Carrier and Trane, number 1 and 2, have their own proprietary systems that they try to push into every new system they sell for obvious reasons.

As i see it now, there will be a slugfest for market share and profits. Elon may very well emrge the victor but they may not be so pretty if and when they do.

While I realize that there has been some movement with the ELON stock since the intro of iLON on November 30 I continue to have reservations about the company. Many false starts over the years, never able to come close to the price goal for the LON chipset promised by Oshman, significant in-fighting with the Lonmark group on direction of Lonworks, and competition from other protocols including BACnet makes me question that ELON could ever be a King or a Gorilla. My experience with Lonworks has been technical on the job, not as a stock watcher. However, the new iLON and the link with Cisco obviously makes it a stock to watch for the future.
