I was, unfortunately, not allowed to examine or counsel the patient or her husband. But it is my understanding that she had peritonitis. You can check with Kaiser Oakland. September 16, 1961. It's writ in most excellent Italian. There was a nice bar across the street, the first place I ever walked in and said, "set 'em up for the house." (2 other people there!). The same night a child was born without a brain. I think my son got that one in addition to the one he already had. I read Mowrer's excellent Learning Theory and Behavior. I danced a gig, and walked home to Berkeley and watched the sun rise over the Berkeley Hills. I was the father of a healthy son! My wife was happy and well. The future looked glorious.
