It is not only sales tax......but also the fact that on-line credit card fraud is estimated to be 5x that of bricks and mortar.

I agree this is a problem; however, I also think a solution is on the horizon. There are any number of ways of dealing with it. Also, with the credit card companies seeing 2% of ALL SALES on the internet you can rest assured they are not afraid of a little fraud. They LOVE e-commerce.

I do believe, however, that when fraud and abuse become significant issues for the credit card companies, they will be motivated to deal with it. Ultimately, it will take the form of requiring the card to be swiped at a $29 mag stripe reader or some similar technique.

Are the credit card companies expected to eat this?.....and how?.....raise their interest rates to 43%?

Brad,

I know as a fact the credit card processing companys are trying to offset this by tacking on an additional 1 to 1.5% discount rate to the retaile.

For example the discount rate for my brick and mortar store sales is 1.35%. The discount rate for items purchased at my "amateur" web site is 2.75%. This difference may not seem that siginificant but it is to stores with large revenue working with about 19% gross margins. I admit it is less of an issue to jewelry selling but that is due to higher gross margins typically in that industry.

Glenn

Hey Bg, your talking to a guy that bought into Jp Morgans price target of 180. I bought Amzn april 90 calls just because of their bull shit.
Thank God, I ended up buying April 90 puts as a hedge.
Do you know that the only real money I have made with this stock was when I was hedging it with a downward bias?
Ps
