Could, my only concern in the "near term" is that most of the initial wireless web traffic will not be data intensive and TDMA based systems should be able to handle it, albeit not as efficiently as CDMA.

So the catalyst is still not right here right now IMO but it is coming down the pike and TDMA based carriers better get ready.

The other issue in the near term is cost. Wireless data right now is still sort of expensive but it will come down in price, and we all know what happens when price comes down in telco biz, demand increases.
