Lizzie, have you seen the movie starring Edward Norton, called "American History X"? If you haven't, I strongly recommend renting the video. The story of Chevy Kehoe you cited in your post really reminds me of it. It's about a skinhead who realizes he is on a really bad path, and tries to change his life so his little brother will not turn out badly as well.

There are several murder cases where white supremacist or extremely right-wing religious views have influenced young people. There are two brothers on trial for killing a male gay couple in Redding, California who seem to have been influenced by isolationist parents with very strong views.

Most of the school shootings, though, seem more typically to involve mental illness in the children, and parents who were not paying enough attention or were so embarrassed by the thought of their children needing psychiatric treatment that they did not do the best they could.
