Rich, you have made the ABSOLUTELY best investment you (or anyone on the thread) can make in yourself. In October, although I am not a broker, I do live in Richmond, and so had the good fortune to attend the DWA broker institute in Richmond. I cannot say enough about the conference. The staff was fantastic, the camaraderie among the participants was wonderful, the materials, which are supported by hands-on small group participation to illustrate the principles, was stellar and provides a great "take home" package to re-read again. You will find the conference will confirm what you do know and give you information you need more clarification on. Had I known an individual investors conference would be developed this February, I would have probably waited until then to attend, not only for the focus on the individual investor, but also for the chance to meet and share with everyone on the thread. After the conference, my excitement about P & F was heightened (hard to think that was possible!) to the point I signed up for the two week trial (now having switched permanently) of the professional service. Although I still consider myself a newbie, I have more than doubled the net worth of my individual portfolio since the conference. So block off the time, and, as TD says, dig the quarters out of the sofa and come!!! You won't regret a minute of it! P.S. My pick(s) for the triple are mostly biotechs...first one, Ligand(LGND), great pipeline, partners with all the major pharmas, FDA approval on some drugs already, and upcoming diabetes and breast cancer news to watch out for. Also, you might take a look at SCLN(working on CF and hepatitis A,B,& C, and in partnership w/major pharma on this in Japan),HPRT(nice pullback), IFLO (if it breaks out of its big base), and AXC (not a bio; into streaming media). Happy New Year to all!
