VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Jan 26, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ --
LML Payment Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: LMLP) subsidiary CHECK CENTER is
pleased to report it has reached an agreement to provide check services
to an additional 17 Dillons Grocery Stores, bringing the total number
of Dillons Stores serviced to ninety-four. Dillons, headquartered in
Hutchinson Kansas, operates supermarkets and grocery stores in Kansas,
Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas.

"Dillons has been an important client for some time now. We are pleased
they have decided to bring on these additional stores. As a member of
the LML group of companies, we will continue our high level of service,
but are also in a position to deliver additional service options
including: Electronic Check Representment and LML's patented Electronic
Check Conversion services. Checks are used more than any other payment
system across the country, but nowhere is this consumer preference more
evident than in the supermarket industry where checks are used 40% of
the time," said Larry Oeding, President of CHECK CENTER.

"We've had a long and close relationship with CHECK CENTER. As
partners, our program of loss prevention and collection continues to
reduce Dillons Stores losses significantly," said Bill Griggs, a
Dillons spokesperson. "Dillons is looking forward to bringing these new
stores on line and we are very excited to have access to the new
electronic services CHECK CENTER can now provide."

LML Payment Systems owns US Patent No. 5,484,988 with regard to a
"Checkwriting Point of Sale System." This patented technology allows
the electronic authorization, capture and settlement of traditional
paper check transactions, and provides significant benefits to
businesses and consumers.
